Coolie Labor - 36

This peasant is pulling a handcart loaded with concrete slabs for the construction of a building. His load weighs hundreds of pounds. The word "Coolie" in English comes from a Chinese word "Kuli" which means "Bitter Labor." For those who have no education, no land and no specific skills the only work available to them is often this work. It is why the Chinese so work hard to give their children the best education they can afford.
