River Ferryman - 38

This peasant, with an investment of a small boat has gone into the ferry business. He operates in the city of Zigong transporting people and goods across the river. He propels the craft with a stern paddle that he sweeps back and forth. These men can be found by the thousands at most every river waiting for business. Many are found at many crossings on the Yangzi river. Business is good for many of these men. The Red Army relied on the services of these men on the Long March.
