Train from Beijing Station to Nanjing - 2008 Bernice Gets Some Rest - 10 It had been a exhausting day. We had gotten up early and had ridden in a van from Baoding for several hours to Beijing. We had much difficulty getting aboard the train with our luggage after waiting for 5 hours for the train departure time. Both of us are exhausted. Chinese trains have no provision, at least in Beijing to check luggage, no carts, and no porters. For foreigners with 6 weeks of luggage with them it is a formidable task, especially when you are approaching 80 years of age. Light is a little faint so the photo is somewhat grainy. Our alcove has six beds without a door. We have the two lower bunks. ⇦ Back to Page 9 On to Page 11 ⇨Hi-Res Pic (209K) Return to Beijing Train - Page 2 |
