14. Construction on One Circle Road

This is part of 1 Circle Road. Our unit, the Chengdu Branch of the Chinese National Academy of Sciences, referred to as "Academia Sinica" is in the background. Those apartments in view are the living quarters of the some 6,000 people who work for this branch. Academia Sinica has branches in every major city in China. We are teaching the Scientist who work there and other Scientist who come here for English training from other branches. Most will go abroad for scientific research or training. It is exciting to teach the best brains in China. We spent two years here teaching.
