26. Peng Yanbo's Family

Peng Yanbo, a friend and good student at the Academy of Science has invited Bernice and I to a dinner at a fine restaurant. He is with his wife and daughter Patsy who was 8. Ten years later Patsy would come to live with us in Xiamen to learn English. Peng whose English name is Bob was a good English speaker and would later leave the Chinese Academy of Science to start his own computer company. We would later meet him in Shenzhen where he was doing business in 1999. Bob spent a month with us at our home in Oregon and would travel around the USA in our trailer to visit some National Parks. It was a fantastic diner. Notice the fancy carved peacock with a clutch of pickled eggs.
