24. City of Zhengzhou - (Translation -- Zheng Country)

Zhengzhou (pronounced Jung-joe) is the capital of Henan (Pronounced Ho-nan) Province and is a major city of north central China. It is located a few miles south of the Yellow River and about 400 miles south of Beijing and about 600 miles north of Wuhan. Geographically, it sits at the western edge of the agriculturally important North China Plain.

Zhengzhou has jurisdiction over five cities, one county and six districts. Zhengzhou covers a total area of 268 square miles. It has a population of 6 million of which 2 million in its urban area. The people of the city enjoy a pleasant climate in spring and autumn, but midsummer temperatures can soar above 90 degrees, with heavy rains occurring in July.
