"Piggy San" Radio Relay Station
Harry Shively 4. "Piggy San" Relay Station Base camp The base camp for Piggy San was not a true base camp by definition. It was just a small village where we parked our vehicles, 1 jeep, and a 3/4-ton truck. There was no communications from this village to the site and a long hike to the mountain. The village was encircled by a stockade fence with watchtowers. Guerillas or bandits were obviously a threat to them. We had to remove the battery cables and distributor rotor from the vehicles to keep the battery from being run down by kids blowing the horn. Thievery was also a problem.
