After the X Corps had been evacuated from Hungnam in North Korea the ship took us to Pusan Harbor. They transported me aboard the Alamo Victory. The troops were unloaded and our vehicles also. I drove over to where the troops were and picked my team up. Then the entire company drove in a column north to Taegu where we spent the night. It was a few days before Christmas. I am dead tired as is everyone. That night the main army post office burnt to the ground in a big fire. I often wondered if there were any packages in the fire for me. But life goes on.
