This is another picture of our OIC, Lt. Bowland, taken later in the winter. He was a very good officer to have on an isolated relay site where boredom could become a way of life. He was somewhat lax in discipline unless another officer was present and on special occasions we would roll grenades down the mountainside just to hear the noise they made. He was a reserve officer from Oklahoma and was called up during the Korean War.
