Korean workers are building the stone wall and tiled roof house that replaced our squad tent. The tent was left intact as long as possible while the work was being done. The tent floor and contents are still present and the house was finished before the snow fell. Quite an improvement to have a wall a foot thick instead of thin a canvas separating you from those Korean winters. The building was paid for by each GI giving a very small amount of money. More recent pictures of the Taejon site show that our house was torn down and replaced by a damned Quonset hut. So sad.
