17. Noll Tries out a Korean Chige

Here is Noll with Orchard in front of our new quonset hut that is being constructed. I am trying out the Korean chige. It is the effective means for Koreans to carry loads. I have seen them carry 400 pounds 10 miles with this tool. It has long legs at the bottom so you can set it down and rest. They also use a long stick with a fork at the end for keeping their balance and to prop the chige up so it doesn't fall over when they are resting. I once carried a 300-pound load to prove to the Koreans I could do it. I didn't carry it for a long way, however. I am not that dumb.
