The Strategic Communications Command was reorganized in 2001 and re-designated as the U.S. Army Network Enterprise Technology Command / 9th Signal Command (Army). It is headquartered at Fort Huachuca, Arizona and is the operator, manager and defenders for the Army's Information Structure at the enterprise level. The command delivers common-use services and signal war fighting forces in support of the Army and its Army Services Component Commanders and Combatant Commanders. Netcom / 9th SC (A) ensures the Army's portion of the Global Information Grid is available and protected .It reacts in a moments notice to establish communication services in remote locations. It operates to manage and defend the network to keep it free from all types of threats. It assures that Army network components work with those from other branches of military, providing a real-time comprehensive view of the battlefield to the Joint Task Force.
