9. Swallow Nest removed from old nest This picture shows the old nest I removed from last year's nest of the Tree Swallows. You can see the feathers they used to line the nest to make it soft for the baby birds. You can also see the shells of the hatched birds. The Mother fed the baby birds from time to time after swooping up enough insects. In time you could see the babies peeping out of the nest. And eventually they flew off. You must clean out the nest at the end of the season so they will use it again. I put the feathers out for them to use in the spring.
