1. Bird Feeder with Song Bird Mix

This shows the first bird feeder we made. We fill this one with Song Bird Mix. The original version did not have the overhang long enough and the feed would get wet during a hard rain. We have lengthened the overhang and this has solved the problem. The Quail enjoy the feed that spills over onto the ground. The Oregon Juncos also feed on the spilled feed and clean it up quite well. We also raised the bottom edges to cut down on the spilled seed.

Problems have developed. Squirrels raid this feeder and quickly empty it so we installed a cone. That solved the problem.
