Location in Oregon
Mallard Duck Anas platyrhynchos - This wide-ranging bird is common in ponds and fresh water marshes. It is the best-known and most common wild duck in the northern hemisphere. Mallards are the prize quarry of duck hunters each fall, as huge flocks fly south from the breeding areas across Canada and the northern United States. Large V-shaped flocks are often seen flying to and from their feeding areas. |
