Birds Observed at Our Pleasant Hill, Oregon Home
Location in Oregon
California Quail Lophortyx californicus - Common in mixed woodlands and in large city parks. Usually seen in flocks feeding on the ground. They seem to prefer to run rather than fly. We see them in our flowerbeds and running down the driveways. A flock of baby chicks showed up recently. There were three adults and about 25 tiny chicks taking their free lunch at our feeder on the ground. Click for a Photo of our Birds |
