Lone Pine - Birds of Oregon

Golden Books - Birds of Oregon

We think that this book ranks excellent for amateur birders. It costs $19.95 USD ($26.95 Canada). The book has some 384 pages with very good illustrations and information about each individual bird. The book measures 5.5 by 8.5 inches and is a 5/8 inch thick, too big to carry in your pocket. This book shows over 477 birds found in Oregon with some 357 making annual visits. The book has lavishly full color illustrations, range maps within Oregon. The detailed descriptions include size, status (common, rare, etc.) nest locations, feeding type, voice, and best locations to observe the bird within the state. Obviously, if you live in another state try to find bird books for that state. This type of book can be very useful for local birders.
