Red Phalarope Phalaropus fulicaria - An uncommon pelagic species most often seen during storms along the coast. The yellow bill (black in immature) is short and much stouter than the other phalaropes. In gray winter plumage the black eye line is characteristic. Common call is a loud pik. |
