Pinicola enucleator - These tame birds are locally common in northern forests of spruce and fir. Male is like a large Purple Finch, but has white wing bars contrasting with dark wings, In flight the Pine Grosbeak is told from Evening Grosbeak by its long tail. Call, 3 high weak whistles.
