Freezing Swedish Almond Bars 20. Paint with Egg Whites and Cover with Almonds We next use a pastry brush to paint the top of our mixture with the egg whites. Get the top wet with the egg whiles. We then evenly sprinkle the crushed almonds on top. We used about 3/4 cup of crushed (almost powdered) almonds. We used almonds and ground them in our blender.
