Tools to Can Apple Butter, Tool 2 Pans, Knives and Cutting Board We use these shallow pans to work with many of our canning jobs. Sharp knives will greatly ease and improve your efforts. Working with apples it helps to have a narrow bladed knife to made turns easier. We use a large knife to quarter the apple and two shorter narrow bladed knives for the trimming work.
