Step 22, Wash Jars

We remove the ring and wash the jars in warm soapy water. We mark the lid with the year and store in a dark cool place without a ring. If rings are left on they often corrode and make it difficult to open. Also you will need the rings for the next canning job. When we open the jar it we will put a ring back on if not all used.
