Step 11, Fill Jars

Bring vegetable, vinegar mix from step 10 to a boil. Using a measuring cup and a funnel fill the pint jars leaving a half inch headspace. Make sure enough liquid is in the jar to cover vegetable mix. The picture shows canning applesauce but it's the same for relish. Paul fills the jars; Bernice wipes the rim and puts on the ring. Paul tightens ring and puts the finished jar on newspapers. Paul froze his hands in the Korean War so he can handle very hot items.
