Making Butterscotch Swirl Biscuits 22. Roll Strips and Slice Here Bernice begins to tightly roll up the 2 inch strips. After completing each roll lay it sideways and use a sharp knife to cut the roll in half to make two 1 inch rolls. Place the 1 inch rolls with the cut side down on your cookie sheet. A shiny cookie sheet will work best. It will keep the bottoms from burning before the top bakes.
