Removing the Shells While the potato-onion pot is heating. Bernice begins to remove the egg shells. We have discovered a good method of getting the shells off the egg, one that works well for us. After they have sat in the hot water for the 10 minutes we pour off the hot water and replace it with cold water. We will also add a few ice cubes to speed things up.
