Bernice Chase Noll Growing Up 5. Bernice Noll in 1939. I wore "Shirley Temple" curls that my mother tied up with rags each night. The boys that sat behind me in school delighted in pulling and braiding them. Those curls were the "in" fashion in those days. Isn't she pretty? You Bet! My curls were due to the popularity of Shirley Temple's movies. Now I am in Lincoln school and it is a shorter bike ride. On the corner at the turn of fifth street a dog would come out each day as I rode by and bite my leg. I don't like dogs to this day. Finally, my brother Rodney showed me a way to get around this corner and the attacks were at an end. ⇦ Back to Page 4 On to Page 6 ⇨Hi-Res Pic (66K) Return to Bernice Growing Up - Page 1 |
