45. Dad Gets Pilot's License

In April 1973 the family decided they wanted to join the world of aviation. We joined a flying club that had four planes to use by the members. To pay for the flying lessons plane time the family washed the four planes each week. That gave us four hours of flight time to take lessons. Paul's flight instructor worked for him at the phone company. He started lessons on April 17, soloed on April 30, and got his license on August 21 of 1973. On March of 1975 he got his Instructors license. The family took many excursions in the club plane and later bought their own plane, a 1967 Cessna 182. Here the family gets ready to go to the Nut Tree for lunch.
