Paul Noll Growing Up 20. House on Castleman in Arlington We lived here at 3926 Castleman Street in Arlington, California. We lived here from 1937 to 1940. After that we move to Fontana where my Stepdad worked at the Kaiser Steel Mill. I took this picture in 2002 when passing through Arlington. My curiosity aroused me to see if it still stood some 65 years after we moved away. Mom worked at a high school in Riverside. Sometimes she came home late so she made arrangement for the three of us boys to eat at a restaurant in town. The lady there fed us for 35 cents each. But she made sure we ate a good meal, no hamburgers or junk food. Vegetables and milk came with each dinner. If we ate everything we got a piece of pie. The lady at the restaurant looked after us as if we were her kids. Except for being yellow now, it had been white when we lived there, I saw no changes. ⇦ Back to Page 19 On to Page 21 ⇨Return to Paul Growing Up - Page 3 |
