We Wait for the Ferry to Gig Harbor - 13

In the first years we went to see Grampa in Seattle we rode the ferry boat to Gig Harbor. Later in 1940 they built a bridge, the Tacoma Narrows Bridge. New and marvelous we drove on the bridge. But, alas, it would fall into the water before the year was out. While we waited for the ferry we three boys would try fishing off the pier. We fished with some string we found and bent pins. We would sometimes catch small minnows. One day Grampa bought us some fish hooks and we did better catching fish.
