The farm had no electricity, or running water. On the left end of the porch, shown here, was the well with a hand pump. An outhouse sat some distance from the house. The house had two rooms. Heat and stove was wood burning. I never quite knew how the farm got started but Grampa loved it but Gramma loved the city life better. We spent most of the time on the farm which was fine for us.
