James Alonzo Noll - Gig Harbor Farm
17. Noll Boys Puget Sound, WA When we lived in Arlington, California, my grandfather would send money to my Mom so we could ride the Greyhound Bus to Seattle to live with my Grandfather during the summer. He lived in a small house about 10 miles from Gig Harbor. The house had no electricity or running water. We three boys had a wonderful time with my Grandpa. He cooked wonderful food on a wood stove in a two room house. Sometimes he would take us to the Puget Sound to swim. We would talk him into putting some logs into the water for us to float on. We had no suits but that was no problem. The water was colder than Billy Heck. You couldn't get me in today with a stick, but we were kids and they don't care about such things. Donald is on the left, Crawford in the middle and Paul on the right. I remember giant crabs on the bottom of Sound. ⇦ Back to Page 16 On to Page 18 ⇨Hi-Res Pic (75K) Return to Grandpa's Farm Page 3 |
