As a kid of 5, I generally had no idea of where we were. You just got into Grampa's car and got where you wanted to go. I can see by the map that getting from Seattle.Tacoma to Gig Harbor would be a very long distance without a ferry or a bridge. Sometimes we went into Seattle to see Grandma and sometimes she traveled on the ferry to see us on the farm. We would meet her at the ferry landing in Gig Harbor. Grampa's farm was about 10 miles on dirt roads from Gig Harbor.
