6. Paul Cleared for Takeoff on 28 Right

Before you can takeoff at a controlled airport (one with a active tower) you must have permission to takeoff. To do so you must indicate to the tower before getting permission where you will go after being airborne. At 28R (Hayward runway located on the right in a direction of 280 degrees) you are pointed directly towards the Oakland International airport. So I request a right down wind departure that will take me directly away from Oakland airport. That means I will turn right after gaining sufficient altitude and then another right turn away from Hayward airport. After 3 miles I am no longer under control of the Hayward tower.
