Before you start to take off you must check the compass, altimeter, radios, lights and circuits. You follow a checklist to make sure you have completed all checks. Each plane you fly very often have the instruments located in different places so you have to acclimate yourself to the new arranged cluster. Radio frequencies will then be set to the ground controller and the tower frequencies.
