Barnum's Animal Crackers

This brings back some fond humor12-memories. We loved these as kids. We sorted them out to see how many animals we had. We also first ate the heads off of them. I guess to make sure they didn't have to look at us eating them. I also remember asking if vegetarians could eat animal crackers. In total there have been 37 different animals featured in Barnum's Animals Crackers since 1903. The current crackers are bear, bison, camel, cougar, elephant, giraffe, gorilla, hippopotamus, hyena, kangaroo, lion, monkey, rhinoceros, seal, sheep, tiger, and zebra. The boxes sold for only five cents. The string was added in 1902 so you could hang the box on your Christmas tree.
