Joan Crawford and her 1930-31 Cadillac Fleetwood

Joan Crawford was an American film and television actress who began her career as a dancer and stage showgirl. In 1999, the American Film Institute ranked Crawford tenth on its list of the greatest female stars of Classic Hollywood Cinema. Cadillac introduced designer-styled bodywork in 1927. It installed shatter-resistant glass in 1926. Cadillac also introduced the "turret top," the first all-steel roof on a passenger car. Previously, car roofs had been made out of fabric-covered wood. The Great Depression sapped the auto industry generally, with the luxury market declining more steeply.
