Genista Lydia Usually deciduous shrubs, but green branches give plants evergreen look. Leaves often small and short lived. Bright yellow flowers bloom in profusion at ends of shoots in May. Plants sets little seed. Good in zones 4-6, 14-17. We live in zone 6. Grows to 2 feet high, with spreading habit. Less aggressive than other brooms. Our has done very well in border of front lawn.
