Japanese Maple

Trees Growing at Our Pleasant Hill Oregon Home

Japanese Maple

Acer palmatum Native to Japan. Deciduous tree. Slow growing. We have planted a "Crimson Queen." This variety is small, shrubby, with finely cut leaves that hold color all summer, turn scarlet before dropping offs in the fall. Ours is about 3 feet high and nicely crowned. A local nursery specializes with hundreds of varieties of these. Scotch Moss is growing underneath.
