Lycorea cleobaea (Helicon)

This species frequents dark areas beneath the forest canopy in central and tropical South America. The butterflies protect themselves from predators by mimicking the color markings of less edible Helicon butterflies. It is 12 high. Butterfly is 4 by 2 Inches.
