Wildflowers Found in Oregon Naked Broomrape Orobanche uniflora - Locally common, all spring, annual, 1/2-3 in. Erect, less than 3 in., without chlorophyll. Stem covered with violet to yellow hairs and glands. Flower stalks 1-3, bractless. One flower per stalk; calyx lobes narrow, pointed, longer than tube. Flower held more or less horizontal to ground, purple to yellow. Grows in moist to dry places, parasitic on sedums, saxifrages, and species of the aster family, at low to mid elevations. Native.
