Barestem Buckwheat (Naked Eriogonum}

Eriogonum nudum - Common, all summer, perennial, 1-5 ft. Erect leafless stems, basal leaves. Stems can be very tall, smooth or with few leaves on lower section. Leaves small with hairy petioles, egg-shaped, widest at tip end, felted with white hairs on underside, sometimes with wavy edges. Inflorescence on long stalks, consisting of widely spaced heads of flowers. Flowers white, yellow, or pink. Often grows in abundant stands in open places from near sea level to high elevations. Native.
