Star Flowered False Solomon's Seal (Star Solomon's Seal)

Maianthemum stellatum (Smilacina Stellata) - Common, late spring, perennial, 1-2 feet. Stem upright, unbranched, arching above middle. Stem straight or may zigzag between leaves. Leaves alternate, sessile or grasping stem, widely oval, with pointed tip. Flowers 12 or fewer, starry-looking, with individual stalks at top. Berries greenish yellow turning blue or black with age. Grows in moist woods, along streams, throughout western North America below 6500 feet. Native.
