Wildflowers Found in Oregon Smooth-stalked Helvella Fungus Helvella elastica - Helvellacae Pezizales Brownish, saddle-shaped cap on slender stalk. Cap: 3/8 - 1 3/8 in. wide 1/4 - 1 5/8 in. high; saddle-shaped, with slightly incurved edge; pale grayish-yellow to gray. Grayish-brown, or brown above; smooth, whitish to creamy-buff below.
