Silverleaf Phacelia

Phacelia hastata - Locally common, later spring-early summer, perennial, 6-36 in. Erect, occasionally decumbent, stems and leaves with stiff hairs, glandless. Stems often branched. Leaves mostly basal, 1/2-5 in. long, narrowly oblong, usually entire; lower leaves may be lobed, becoming smaller up stem. Flowers in dense tightly coiled cluster, petals fused most of the length, bell-shaped, white or lavender; stamens extending beyond petals. Grows in flats, shrublands, forests, subalpine, alpine. Native.
