Wildflowers Found in Oregon Salmon Polemonium (Great Jacob's Ladder, Royal Polemonium) Polemonium carneum - Locally common, early summer, perennial, to 36 in. Clumps more or less erect. Plant covered with tiny hairs. Stems leafy. Leaves opposite along stems becoming small upward, divided into lance-shaped leaflets, the uppermost leaflets fused to 2 just below. Flowers 3-7 in open bell-shaped cluster, petals and tube about the same length, usually peach, sometimes lavender or white.
