Downstairs in the house, Paul pulls out some of the computer programming books he has written, along with books he developed for helping to teach Enlish to non-English speakers. He developed the books on English to help explain "the vexations of the English language." Paul has extensive experience teaching English in China.

The computer book were written following Paul's discovery that other computer books did not do what he considered a very good job at what they were supposed to do. At one time Paul was heavily involved with computers and computer education.
