1. USA Passport

Each citizen should have a passport. It is best to have a passport for your children. A friend had to leave their baby with friends in Hong Kong because they did not have a passport for the baby. In the USA you get your passport from your post office. You need a copy of your birth certificate two passport photos and money. It takes several weeks to get one. Make sure that your passport has enough time on it for your trip. It can be very costly to get a new one overseas if it expires while you are there. Also make sure you have quality copies of your passport in case you lose it or it is stolen. You must have your passport with you at all times overseas and on return to the USA. It is good to keep it is a plastic case to minimize wear and tear. In China you must show it to check into a hotel or travel or exchange money. I have blocked out portions of my passport for security purposes.
