2. Xinyang City Street

After a three and a half hour train ride we arrived at Xinyang. There the school officials met us with their bus and off we went to our hotel for a rest. I thought that Xinyang looked like one of the cleanest cities in China. The sidewalks consisted on green tile and presented a beautiful visual scene. I took this picture from inside the school bus on the way to our hotel. We had planned to spend Saturday night there and would return to SIAS on Sunday afternoon. Located in the southeast of Henan Province, it covers a total area of 18,293 square km with a population of 7.425 million. There are 8 counties and 2 districts under its administration. Xinyang got its name "the land of fish and rice. "The local product Maojian tea is one of the famous teas in China. The scenic areas are Mt. Jigongshan scenic spot, Nanwan Lake scenic spot, Tangquan Pool, and Lingshan Temple, etc.
