3. Nanhu Hotel in Xinyang

The school took us to this hotel in the city. The hotel name was Nanhu Tourist hotel. It surprised me that I knew the Chinese characters for the name. Nan means south and Hu means lake. One of the big attractions, South Lake, lies a few miles from the city. I found the hotel staff to be most courteous and helpful. Typical of most Chinese hotels, you do not have a key to your room. A young lady on call 24/7 opens the door for you whenever you ask. My room on the third floor is out of sight to the right. The hotel dining room can be seen on the bottom floor to the extreme left past the round windows.
