Jiangsu Province
Translation "The River Revives" Jiangsu is the most densely populated province in China. It has the second highest GDP in the nation after Guangdong. But it has a more balanced industrial structure and a more skilled, better-educated workforce than Guangdong. Chemicals and textiles are its main industries. It is China's biggest producer of pesticides, sulfuric acid, and electric motors, and holds second place in the production of caustic soda, soda ash, and detergents. With 1,100 km of coastline on the Yellow Sea, it is the nation's largest producer of freshwater shrimps, prawns, crabs, and the third largest source of freshwater fish. Bernice and I have spent some wonderful times in Nanjing, Wuxi and Suzhou. |
